History

Beginning with a cross-Canada series of public seminars in 1991, NECI quickly garnered a following in the purchasing and contract management community. From this loyal base, NECI gained entry to a wide range of major organizations and it began to deliver seminars on a custom, in-house basis.

 

Launching of Newsletter

In 1994, recognizing the need to provide ongoing information to its clients, NECI launched  The Legal Edge, which it continues to publish on a quarterly basis. In 2002, at the request of a major client, NECI introduced online delivery of the newsletter in addition to its print version.

 

Meeting Demand for Consulting Services

NECI works with a number of consultants in the procurement and contract management field, helping to collect best practices and ideas for current case studies. Developing an Integrated Training Program

In 2004, NECI's focus turned to an RFP opportunity issued by the Province of B.C. to design, develop and deliver the country's first integrated procurement and contract management certificate program. Working with a team of other companies, NECI took the lead and was awarded the multi-year contract.

 

The team developed twenty courses for the Procurement and Contract Management Program (PCMP) and began delivering them in the fall of 2004. The first class of graduates completed the program in February 2007.

 

Ongoing Improvements and Expansion

NECI continues to enhance and expand its services. Current initiatives include:

  • providing its clients with more choice in courses and delivery models
  • expanding its instructor team
  • upgrading its learning portal to provide more online resources.
