Flexibility and Choice
NECI offers a full range of curriculum expertise to deal with your business needs. Whether your issues lie in the area of negotiations, planning, law and ethics, crafting RFPs and tenders, project management, or evaluation and monitoring, we have instructors who can provide expert facilitation.
Choice of Two Series
To meet the diverse training requirements of our clients, we deliver two distinctive series: Signature Seminars and Procurement and Contract Management Program (PCMP) courses. Each offers its own benefits, but they share in common a client-driven focus, dynamic instructors, practical case studies and high quality training materials.
Choice of Training Program
Build a program that will address your organization's needs and procurement issues by grouping any combination of courses and seminars from our two series. Depending on your organization's training needs, a program may be comprised of a grouping of courses and seminars, or a single offering.
Here are some sample programs. Our team will work with you to build a program that is most suitable for your organization.
Letters of Recognition, Certification and Graduation ceremonies
You have choices for recognizing and celebrating the accomplishments of your learners. For the completion of single courses, a letter of recognition can be provided to each individual learner. For completion of a level of courses or a grouping of courses (e.g. law and ethics, or planning) NECI can provide a letter of completion. These documents can be issued jointly by the organization and NECI and signed by senior representatives.
The B.C. government issues certificates for the completion of each level of courses and for program completion. Program completion is a recognized qualification for career advancement within the B.C. government.
Graduation Ceremonies to Celebrate Success
Graduation ceremonies offer the ultimate way to celebrate the success of your employees. NECI can arrange an onsite graduation ceremony with speeches, photographs, and catering. These public occasions will reinforce your organization's commitment to your employees. They give your senior executives a chance to participate and be recognized for their support. It reinforces your organization's commitment and willingness to invest in high quality training. It focuses on the accomplishments of the key employees who will be the future leaders in your organization.
Here are some stories from graduates.
Choice of Delivery Models
We offer three choices of delivery models to suit your timing, organizational needs and budget:
In-house Seminars to Address Your Issues
In-house seminars address the specific issues faced by your organization and focus on real-life contracting situations. We encourage clients to bring together mixed audiences of contracting staff, user groups, internal customers, and advisors from information technology, legal and human resoures. We also provide training for your suppliers, vendors, consultants and contractors. Our in-house seminars provide you with:
Hosted Sessions to Share Ideas and Costs
Hosted sessions involve one organization taking the lead and inviting others in their area, association, or sector to attend. For example, BC Hydro regularly hosts offerings of seminars such as PCMP 204: Laws and Ethics for Competitive Procurement and invites other cities in the region to attend. This model works well when organizations have a smaller number of employees to train, and/or they recognize the benefit of sharing ideas with others in their sector.
Custom Delivery Options to Accelerate Learning
If your organization is like many others and is faced with large scale retirements, coupled with a growing problem in the recruitment and retention of skilled procurement and contract management employees you may need to quickly build critical internal procurement capacity in this "at risk " job stream.
For the Province of B.C., NECI created an Accelerated Delivery Initiative (ADI) to meet an urgent need, beyond the wider training program already in place. The ADI fast-tracked a group of 22 selected procurement staff who completed eight days of training within a two-week period resulting in completion of all PCMP Level 2 courses. Completion of the same training would have taken at least twelve to eighteen months using the normal course delivery process.
