Innovative Training Resources

We utilize the most innovative training methods and adult education principles in the design of each course. Our courses combine self-directed, peer-to-peer and instructor-led training in online and classroom settings.

NECI takes a blended learning approach to curriculum design and to delivery of training by bringing together the best of both classroom and online learning.

Dynamic Instructors

Our instructors  are enthusiastic about what  they  know,  and  they  want  to  share  it.  They  are  engaged,  articulate,  energetic, and patient.  Approachable  and  focused, they  are  empathetic, respectful, disciplined  and  highly knowledgeable.   They coach, mentor and challenge. and they know how (and when) to stand back and let learners learn.

Compelling Case Studies

Participants learn about legal principles and innovative practices through our extensive inventory of  case studies. These case studies, all based on Canadian examples, offer relevance and timeliness. With our network of clients across Canada, we are able to share templates, policies and best practices amongst organizations. Real life lessons from court decisions form the basis of many of our case studies.

Resources for Ongoing Learning

Learning does not end once the course or seminar is over. We provide participants with a variety of valuable resources to further their skills and knowledge:

  • Course Manual: these high quality materials provide an ongoing reference tool for participants, and include summaries of court decisions, case studies, templates and best practices. We enhance and update our materials on an annual basis so participants are assured of the most current court decisions and leading practices.
  • The Legal Edge: Procurement and contract management specialists, in-house counsel, program managers and senior executives rely on The Legal Edge, to provide them with up-to-date information, written in a concise, straightforward style. We use The Legal Edge as a forum for sharing lessons from Canadian court decisions and trends in procurement and contracting. We focus on issues that will help our clients anticipate legal risks and develop effective contracting practices.
  • Community of Practice: We provide opportunities for participants to continue networking with their peers to exchange ideas, nurture innovation and share knowledge.
  • Update courses: Participants can keep their knowledge current and expand their skill set through update courses.
