Third Class of PCMP Learners Graduate
February 2008
A third group of PCMP participants from the B.C. government graduated in February 2008. Twenty-two people were in the third graduating class, bringing the total to sixty-six learners who have completed all thirteen courses in the certificate program.
Deputy Ministers and other senior representatives of government were on hand to personally congratulate the graduates on their accomplishments.
PCMP Graduate Lesley Bullard observed:
“PCMP for me was an exciting challenge and I found it to be extremely well planned so that there were no surprises. Now that I've achieved certification, I'd say I feel it lends great credibility to the work I do … “
We look forward to a fourth graduating class in fall 2008. There are currently over 2600 B.C. Government employees registered in the PCMP.
PCMP Wins Second Award
November 2007
NECI is pleased to announce that the PCMP was the recipient of a Deputy Minister’s Award of Excellence in the Partnership with Stakeholder category. This award recognizes a group or team within the B.C. government that has the “desire to work co-operatively with all stakeholders to meet mutual goals. It involves awareness that a relationship based on trust is the foundation for success in delivering results.”
Chris Duggan, CEO of NECI, says, “This award is especially significant for us because it recognizes the importance of the relationship we have with Learning Services, the Steering Committee, program participants, and our consortium members. The entire project is an excellent case study in how to work with multiple stakeholders in a long term contract.”
In 2005, the PCMP won the 2005 Leadership in Public Procurement Award, sponsored by the Canadian Public Procurement Council, Summit Magazine and MERX.
